Familiarity with the data logger and its application
A data logger is a device that is used to collect information 24 hours a day in relation to a specific parameter.
This device is usually left unattended after activation and then its data will be measured
during the monitoring period. In this way, it can be used to get a comprehensive and
accurate view of what is happening around, such as temperature changes or humidity.
What is a data logger?
A data logger is a type of data logger that stores data measured by itself or external sensors over time.
This device has small and portable dimensions
And is often used in laboratories for testing and measurement. The data logger usually has a sensor that measures
the parameter data regularly and stores it in its internal memory.
Some of these recorders are equipped with a display to view the stored information,
and others must be connected to a computer via a USB port. Then, with the help of special software, it reviewed and processed its data.
What are the components of a data logger?
Data loggers typically consist of three separate components called hardware, software,
and interface cables. The hardware is obliged to convert the desired signals into digital data and
provide them to the software. This section includes sensors, signal recovery circuits including amplifiers and
noise reducers, analog-to-digital converter circuits, and finally a memory card or computer.
The recorder software also collects, analyzes and displays the data. Data logger cable is
also used to communicate between the device and the computer to transfer the stored data to the computer.
What is Datalogger software?
A data logger requires dedicated software to present and analyze stored data. How the data recorder is
configured and connected depends on the type of software and its program, and based on this, the sensors should start sampling.
Once the Data Logger is deployed, it starts recording and storing data. Then,
at the end of the monitoring period, the recorder is reconnected to the relevant software and provides charts and data to the user.
